Senior Project Manager for Alun Griffiths, Rail North Wales.
Barmouth Rail Viaduct, Main Works. Project start up and planning for the £12.8M Design & Build contract. Client, Network Rail & Stakeholder meetings, land planning, NRW consent applications. Timber trestle refurbishment of 2,500 structural timbers in Greenheart. Start-up meetings with six suppliers. Management of designers Cass Hayward and responsible for all commercial aspects of the project. Managed detailed site survey of 112 span viaduct in tidal estuary.




Mersey Gateway; Project Manager and Inspector of Works.
Responsible for resolving difficult design TQs. Carried out co-ordination between the Design and Construction Joint Ventures and the contractors. Resolved problems with supply chain contractors and supervision of inspectors. Value: £500m.

The NEC PM on the A580 Bus Priority Scheme, Urban Vision, Manchester
Acted as the named NEC Project Manager on a £11m highway scheme with the Employer as Salford City Council, TFGM, the Designer and the main contractor. Managed the option A contract with 140 CE’s and 160 EW’s. Responsible for accepting the programmes, implementing CEQ’s and authorising monthly payment applications. Chaired monthly progress meetings, held risk reduction meetings and completed Project Manager assessments on three delay claims to a total of £1.4m.
Manchester Ship Canal and Liverpool Port – Peel Ports
Worked for Royal Haskoning (UK) in Liverpool as the Project Management on canal and tidal engineering schemes. Acted as the Project Manager for the Manchester Ship Canal refurbishment of the 200 tonne Eastham lock gates. The upper pair of the Eastham lock gates was changed within a 16-hour shut down of the ship canal. Acted as the project and design engineer for the refurbishment of the 400 tonne Gladston lock gates. These lock gates were transported, half afloat by the Mersey Mammoth 250T capacity, floating crane and tipped into a gate shed on a tipping cradle.

Designed the heel-post refurbishment with a new 0.9m dia. steel post with Orkot lining. Other works included the changing of the lock gate pintle with the aid of divers (Ian Hughes) and a Bam Nuttall limpet dam.
The maritime work was for the client Peel Ports and extended to the refurbishment of the 2,400 tonne Langton caissons. Acted as the Project Manager/Engineer for the refit of caisson no.2. The refurbished caisson was floated out at high neap tide within the lock entrance of Liverpool docks.

Wrote two NEC option E contracts after the successful completion of the first two projects, for the floating out, exchange and refurbishment of the next gates/caissons. This included floatation logistics in tidal conditions, programme and client liaison.
Stockport Borough Council – Reddish Footbridge over Rail
Acted as the Project Manager for Stockport B.C. for a 36m span steel footbridge over rail. Wrote two NEC option E contracts for two other rail bridge refurbishments.
